Sadly, three members of the Soboba Tribe put themselves in the position to be killed. Indiscriminately firing their weapons and then turning them on RCSD deputies, they were taken out. Now, an attorney accuses them of negligence in their training. Apparently, the deputies, who saved San Jacinto citizens from dangerous criminals, didn't say: "pretty please, criminals, would you put your gun down?"
A lawyer for the Soboba Band of LuiseƱo Indians has accused the Riverside County Sheriff's Department of inadequate training and negligence and of killing a tribal member partly because of his ethnicity.Attorney Jack Schwartz recently filed a tort claim notice with the county Board of Supervisors and vowed to follow up with a federal lawsuit if the panel ignored or denied the claim.
Arres, 26, was shot Dec. 28 after his vehicle was stopped by deputies in Hemet. Authorities said Arres ran from the deputies, who shot him after he pulled a gun from his waistband.
Schwartz said Arres was unarmed. OP: What Scwartz was doing in the car, witnessing all this first hand, he doesn't say..........

Isn't it funny how they use the laws to suit them?...my Aunt was gambling at the Casino and 2 tribal girls got in a fight and threw their beer mugs at each other..one of the beer mugs crashed into my Aunts head...the Casino wouldn't even let the police come into the building...we all had to go outside in the street..the Casino wouldn't even offer to pay for any medical..and as we were waiting outside for the police...they snuck the 2 tribal girls out and said that they were banned from the Casino...and by the way...we were 7 Star players at the time and they totally blew us off..people should know that they have no rights inside these Indian Casino's...and now it sounds like even the cops have no rights...they didn't shoot them because they were Indians minding their own business...they were causing trouble and shooting guns..quit using the race card...
It would be good if someone were able to put together information on what your rights are in CA Indian Country.
What do you lose when you visit a casino?
We should KNOW before we go
"KILLER" Sheriffs after Indians? Is that what this lawyer is trying to say? Lack of training? Suspect points weapon at you, you shoot. There's not time to say, "gee, I hope this guy isn't Indian.."
All he's looking for is deep pockets.
How about a lawsuit and PR campaign against the Soboba tribe for allowing members to endager the people of San Jacinto?
Aren't THEY negligent in informing the Riv deputies who were the dangerous people?
Were any of you disgruntled ex-tribal members there. You should just keep you mouths shut and stop crying. You should really stop trying to protect the unbeleivably corrupt Riverside Sheriff Dept.
