California's Casinos Take Hit in this recession.

The recession hits everyone. Conventional wisdom in the past said that casinos were recession proof, but that's proving to be not the case.

The
Fresno Bee has an article on the casinos in CA.

California casinos aren't seeing big declines, experts speculate, but they aren't seeing much growth either. While local casinos may be getting some customers who can't afford Las Vegas, they also are finding gamblers less willing to ante up.

Some customers have been driven away by the lawlessness at tribal casinos and more are becoming aware that you lose many of your rights when you step onto Indian Reservations.

Las Vegas and other destination spots -- including large Southern California tribal casinos -- have taken the brunt of the economic punch, experts say. About seven out of 10 industry experts and analysts surveyed recently by the American Gaming Association said that tribal casinos have been affected less by the downturn than commercial casinos.

Pechanga Casino has reduced their employees by 800 from their high of 5100 workers, recently laying off 400. Couple that with reduced traffice due to closures of their nightclubs due to thuggish behavior of their young people and that means less money coming in.

People are finding that gambling is NOT their only entertainment option.

  1. Most locals do not gamble at Pechanga because of the drama surrounding them. From my understanding they plan to let more go in the next month, but not letting it out publicly due to the negative publicity they recieved in August. When will those casino people stop? How many lives do they have to ruin before either they stop or somebody stops them? When exactly will enough be enough?

  2. Evidence of fraud, corruption, suspected homicide linked to Schwarzenegger's casinos. Same group behind the secret water diversion, which is why reporting the atrocities resulted in death threats.

    STAY AWAY FROM CALIFORNIA CASINOS!

Check out the trail of Jeffry C. Winslow, owner of Mono Hot Springs Resort (linked to the new $400 million Mono Rancheria casino being planned.) ===> http://fresnorealestatefraudtheft.blogspot.com/2008/07/local-agencies-city-and-county-actually.html

Not only is Winslow behind the horrors mentioned in the above link, he is one of the "people watchers" (illegal relocation / connection of PG&E's utility poles) who boast of hidden cameras inside and outside - including motels.

Winslow has been leasing the Mono Indians land since 1969 - he says that after the secret water operation is complete, the water level at the dam will be raised, resulting in piped water throughout the campgrounds (as farmers are left without water.) He said after everything is complete, he and his group will be taking over the Indians' land and assets. Nothing new - carry out the alterations while the victims are still alive and "in charge" - nothing is questioned afterwards, not even altered records.

Schwarzenegger and his group needed access to the Indians' land in order to carry out their secret water diversion, which Swieso says is the continuation of Bonadelle's "secret water operation." Therefore, the casinos were made to appear as something done for the Indians? As the infrastructure upgrade (annihilating people to seize control of their property; tearing up structures and leaving them setting on top of clamped sewer/water lines; altering records to cover up the major alterations; re-selling as "original" on forged deeds) was done for the public? What a farce.
