BOYCOTT the LAKERS for ACCEPTING A Sponsor that Violates CIVIL RIGHTS and HUMAN RIGHTS: Yes Pechanga

The Los Angeles Lakers' website shows that the Pechanga Resort and Casino, operated by the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians, well know civil rights violators are SPONSORS.

It's funny that Mexican-American groups are calling for a protest over head coach Phil Jackson's comments to ESPN the other day, yet have NO PROBLEM supporting a sports team that takes MONEY from a tribe the actually HAS violated civil and human rights. What's UP WITH THAT?

In an interview with ESPN, Jackson spoke in support of SB 1070 saying, “Am I crazy, or am I the only one that heard [the legislature] say ‘we just took the United States immigration law and adapted it to our state.’” When sports reporter J.A. Adande remarked that SB 1070 actually represented “the usurping of federal law,” Jackson responded, “It’s not usurping…. they gave it some teeth to be able to enforce it.”
He then chided his upcoming playoff opponent, the Phoenix Suns, for coming out as a team—from owner to players—against the bill.

“I don’t think teams should get involved in the political stuff,” Jackson said. “If I heard it right the American people are really for stronger immigration laws, if I’m not mistaken. Where we stand as basketball teams, we should let that kind of play out and let the political end of that go where it’s going to go
.”

altoarizona.com want has a petition out asking Jackson to stand with Los Angeles, you know, the city whose leader's haven't read the law and are only looking to get press coverage. Ed Reyes is a moron who doesn't know that the AZ law has the same law as our OWN California law, Janice Hahn..a political legacy and not worth much... direct your ire at PECHANGA

Coach Jackson is entitled to his opinion but that being said, if I ever get a chance to talk to him I will ask him why the Lakers do business with rights violators such as Pechanga.

GO LAKERS! Who cares if you take money from civil rights violators! As long as you win, who cares WHAT you do?!

If the Hispanics were REALLY concerned about Civil Rights, if the NAACP were REALLY concerned about civil rights, they would make an example of gaming tribes.

...they aren't hispanics are all about hispanics and blacks are all about blacks. the outcry regarding the jenna 5 and the unrest about the az border situation is evident of such, did you see we natives out there supporting them - HELL NO! sadly, we are also all about ourselves - ndns support ndns, except where disenrollments are concerned, why do you think this is so? ps-you won't see me at any open the border support rally or protest - hell no!

Go LAKERS! Take money from civil rights violators!

Give lip service to civil rights in AZ, while taking cash from those who DO VIOLATE civil rights and human rights.

Look the Lakers are a ball team that doesn't have a dog in the disenrollment battle! They are entertainment and are representing So. Cal exceptionally right now. And furthermore, who gives a crap about the Arizona law, i'm all for it - Go Arizona!! Nobody cares about the Mexican illegals except to tell them to go hom and get in line. The disenrolled are all Citizens of the United States of America and are not illegal aliens, at least I think they aren't. They maybe aliens to their respective reservations about now but that's all. Once again, Nobody Cares!!! The battle is too controversial and isolated for them to react in anyway without hurting around 90% of the other law-abiding Tribes! You just try to change Martinez Law and watch the Tribes move against rather than toward y'all!

It's not just about the Lakers, it's about THEIR FANS, who rose up against a comment made by Phil Jackson. They made it political. The Suns made it political by wearing Los Suns jerseys in support of illegals. The Los Angeles politicians made civil rights an issue, by saying this law COULD violate civil rights. Yet, when it's shown that they don't really care about civil rights, because their neighbors, the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians are GUILTY of gross violations of civil and human rights, they are silent, along with the ACLU, the NAACP and NARF.

Phil made a comment about AZ enforcing laws that already exist, which is true. So What? The Lakerz Came out and won another game last night - 5! All Californians should be loud and proud and stand behind their home team! I'm telling ya don't mess wit da Lakerz Fans!! It'll bite you in da butt-her-face!
