The gauntlet has been thrown down at the Pechanga reservation. Pecahnga tribal chairman Mark Macarro is no longer the golden boy .
Is a Maziel destined to lead the tribe again?
Can Andrew Masiel become the new chairman via another recall attempt? Can he earn the trust of the people when he partners with a child molester?
Can our congress stomach that partnership? Andy should be looking elsewhere for votes
Vince Ibanez should still be in prison, rather than roaming the Rez. The children are not safe with this predator around.
ReplyDeleteI have posted this question many times over the last year, What member of the tribe would make a good leader.
ReplyDeleteWhat man or woman is capable of doing the right thing?
What man or woman can make the tribe whole again?
Simple questions, but unless the right man becomes the leader things will remain the same. A leader has to have integrity, grit and fortitude and also be humble. Does anyone fit that bill????
Former councilman John McGee is better than most. Reportedly he opposed the disenrollments and he ran against Macarro for tribal chairman in July but lost but reportedly by less than 100 votes which means with the Hunters he would have won.
ReplyDeleteI also don't believe that Ken Perez is corrupt. He told me after we were disenrolled that things would be made right.
Not sure if he is doing anything about it actively though would like to think that he is.
Was there a second recall?
ReplyDeletePerez is illegally enrolled.
ReplyDeleteThe tribal hack that visits the comment section must have a good line of communication to tribal people.
ReplyDeleteAs long as we are out of the tribe, that's as long as we will be working to get back what we lost and for the rights of those who belong, namely the moratorium
That means nothing will come easy to Pechanga. Sen. Feinstein is seeing the light right now, based on her letters back to us.
So what? That means in order to sway her back, there will be a cost in contributions and manpower. Bono Mack too.
Take the right path, do the right thing.
Continued pressure on our politicians IS working. I can tell from their demeanor when I talk to them on the phone. They are getting a better understanding of the machinations of Pechangas tribal reps.
ReplyDelete2011 will be a good year for those who are fighting for their rights.
This from the letter I got from Senator Feinstein's office regarding the water settlement bills.
ReplyDelete"I understand you have concerns regarding how this bill would affect Temecula Indians who have been disenrolled by the Pechanga Trube, including your family."
"I have noted your concerns and will keep them in mind as I continue to work with Representatives in the House and Senator Boxer on this legislation."
It is just a form letter so what is the big deal?
Well it shows how our legal standing as Temeculas is being considered and that the politicians are not just rubber stamping everything Pechanga wants.
John Magee was in with the Masiel/Mirandas to get his spot on the PDC. Who would want to give them more power again?
ReplyDeleteJohn Magee...he admitted to voting the Hunters out on their appeal to the council. Said he had too cause he was threatened by Mark & CPP! Yea Right. He's the Biggest Liar I know. Only Donna & Luker voted in favor of the Hunters.
ReplyDeleteI have known John for a long time I trust him. Macarro on the other hand we all know what he has done to us and indian country. The BIA is aware of Macarro and thanks to our effforts we were all able to kill the water bill.
ReplyDeleteThey all are liars.
ReplyDeleteAgree..
ReplyDeleteI agree Andy would be a better Chairman. Hopefully he'll will win next time. Maybe Mark's heart will explode before then. Isn't that what Mark said about Norman Pico... Let's publish the letter again so everyone can see it.
ReplyDeleteMasiel also has a long history of stealing from Pechanga.
ReplyDeleteFederal intervention to clean up sewer of corruption.
So was John lying when he told us concerning the disenrollments, "it's a bunch of bullshit"?
ReplyDeleteAndrew and his family are the main ones behind the disinrollment. How is he better.
ReplyDelete"John Magee...he admitted to voting the Hunters out on their appeal to the council. Said he had too cause he was threatened by Mark & CPP! Yea Right. He's the Biggest Liar I know. Only Donna & Luker voted in favor of the Hunters."
ReplyDeleteWe were told the vote was 4 to 3 against us with Andy Masiel, Butch Murphy, Marc Calac and Mark Macarro breaking the tie and with Donna Barron, Mark Luker, and John McGee in our favor during our disenrollment appeal.
At 1st Magee said only 2 voted in favor of the Hunters & he was 1 of them than when the truth was revealed he said he had to vote against the Hunters because he was afraid for his life & membership! Believe me, I've known John for many, many years. He is equal to Macaro as a liar & only cares about himself. Magee said he didn't except the Ashman affidavet because he didn't like the way the question was asked! He never even read the answer! I'll say it again, "Not only is Magee a Big Liar but he is also an Idiot!
ReplyDeleteMacarro, at our appeal hearing, seemed to not have a clue what we were talking about as it seemed he didn't even read anything about case.
ReplyDeleteThis is backed up by his statement during the Without a Tribe segment when he said, "as it was reported to me there was a percentage quoted and it was 90 percent but it was regarded as non conclusive."
So he didn't read anything himself in something as important as people's citizenship in their tribe being at stake?
Also, with all of the census records, probate records including notarized legal statements in our favor how could the percentage, even if it was 90 percent, be 90 percent against us and be inconclusive?
It is a shame that regarding Mcgee, if he did cave in to what he called threats against him, that he didn't have the backbone to do what was right.
I rememeber running to an elder recently who I hadn't seen since we were disenrolled and him telling me that while he knew it was wrong what happened to us when we were disenrolled, that he just didn't get involved in such things.
So some people are either scared to stand up for what is right or they just don't care because it didn't happen to them.
Its John Magee,not Mcgee.
ReplyDeleteWhen are new changes coming? (like old pechanga said)? who is that dude?
ReplyDeleteYou are right, I spelled his name the wrong way last time.
ReplyDelete"Magee said he didn't except the Ashman affidavet because he didn't like the way the question was asked!"
Mr. Ashman was asked, "do you remember Paulina Hunter as a member of the Band?"
What is wrong with how the questions was asked? That doesn't make any sense.
So he didn't even consider that Ashaman's anwser was, "yes, I knew her as such"?
And he didn't consider how the biased slight majority on the enrollment committee was biased against us and ignored obvious evidence that verified our tribal membership claims?
So it appears that if it is true that he was afraid for himself or for his status in the tribe, that his vote was already cast before we even appeared in front of the council.
Andy Masiel during one of our appeals came wondering in almost halfway through the half hour hearing so I guess he really didn't need to hear anything we were saying either as his vote was already etched in stone against us.
Who cares whos in charge their all
ReplyDeletecorrupt no matter what happens! DO YOU THINK AFTER FIFTEEN YEARS ITS GONNA MAKE A DIFFERENCE! THEIR ALL MEXICANS THEY DONT WANT TO LOSE THAT EASY MONTHLY CHECK ,SO WHO CARES NOBODYS EVER GONNA GET IN IM SORRY TO SAY IVE GIVEN UP! AND I DONT WANT TO HERE FROM ANYBODY ABOUT FIGHTING ENOUGH! IVE DONE MY SHARE OF FIGHTING! YOU DONT LIVE FOREVER!
Many have taken the quitter route that the anonymous above will take.
ReplyDeleteWhat IS your share? Is it enough when their is still work to do? Would you now say you'll NOT take per capita should your family get back in?
Why do you hate Mexicans? Almost all Pechanga people have Mexican blood. YOU yourself are NOT pure Pechanga people.
Quit, but quit all the way, go away. Then Pechanga can't count you as out...
why not look at soom one on the moriturm to be a new leader or some one disenrolled. after all everyone knows the people that sit on this so called moritiorum truly belong open enrollment first week in january
ReplyDeleteSome one in the moratorium would have to STAND UP to be seen as a leader.
ReplyDeleteBeing in the moratorium was simple, getting out of it takes work.
What are you doing to show leadership?
Well lets see I have been to washington D C to stand up for all allottes that are on the moratiorim talked to different senentors things like that o havent heard your name my name is m Rios from the tosobol family I work every day doing something trying to post about things I know about and things I would like to know more about
ReplyDeleteWhere can we find your posts M Rios?
ReplyDeleteDo you have a website?
What are your issues with Pechanga?
from M Rios
ReplyDeleteIam sorry if I mislead you I dont have a website. and the only issues we the tosobol family have is the way Pechanga has handle the moratiorim and have allowed us to stay on it for fourteen years we can prove who we are as far back as the 1800s
Mark Macarro is only afraid of real Indians from the Rez not white Indian or Casino Indians like John Magee. Mark is like his fat monkey brothers that gives you hard looks driving away....Marks is also terrified of Rez girls too...
ReplyDeleteRemember when those guys built the Tower of Babel and they all had their languages changed so they all had to speak a different language?
ReplyDeleteIf that ever happens again, I hope I am the lucky one who gets to keep English as my language. Because I didn’t do very well in my Junior High Spanish class.

Does anyone on this Blog realize that PDC just fired the Ethics Director for being too Ethical?? The Board, led by Mr. Perez are the most unethical members of society imaginable. I hope for PDC's sake, that the Ethic Director (and the dirt he must know) keeps very very quiet...
