Original Pechanga: Thanks for Staying With Us

Thanks to all our readers who noticed the short blogging last week.   We had some medical issues in the family and got those taken care of and things are looking up.    We'll be working to get on track this week.   We have a couple of posts coming on the Saginaw Chippewa issues, thanks to our friend Susan Bradford.

Please keep checking with us and tell your friends to take a look.

  1. CAN YOU TELL ME WHY THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR-INDIAN AFFAIRS- AND THE BIA ALWAYS TURNS A DEAF EAR TO ALL THE CORUPTION THAT IS GOING ON IN INDIAN COUNTRY. AND THE "MACARRO CARTEL" IS ONE OF THE WORST OFFENDERS. LIKE WHAT WAS SAID ABOVE, "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT SUE ME" AS THE HEAD OF THAT TRIBE STEALS FROM THEIR OWN MEMBERSHIP AND DARES ANYONE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. HOW CAN THERE EVER BE AN HONEST INVESTIGATION INTO THEIR CORRUPT WAYS IF THEY CAN CHANGE THE PLAYING FIELD WHEN EVER THEY FEEL LIKE IT? ALL IN THE NAME OF "SOUVERNTY". THERE ARE PROVISIONS IN PECHANGAS' BYLAWS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO TO STOP ANY DISENROLLMENTS, WHICH WAS VOTED IN BY THE MEMBERSHIP SO THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN, BUT ALAS, IGNORED BY THE "MACARRO CARTEL". AND THIS IS HAPPENING THOUGHOUT INDIAN COUNTRY. CORRUPT TRIBAL HEADS ARE REGULARLY CHEATING THEIR OWN IN THE NAME OF...GREED AND POWER...

  2. One of the reasons the BIA doesn't care is because not enough people who are impacted have stood up for themselves so why should the move on these issues? Picayune Rancherias cut 500 people, have you heard from them!
They folded like paper and the Pechanga disenrolled aren't much better. Involvement is weak.

  3. QUESTION: WHY DON'T WE HUNTERS' REACH OUT TO THE OTHER TRIBES THAT DISENROLLMENT, "BETTER KNOWN AS ETHINIC CLEANSING" HAS ELIMINATED SO MANY OF THE LEGITIMATE INDIANS IN INDIAN COUNTRY. MAYBE WE'RE THINKING TO SMALL, AND JUST ABOUT WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO US. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, WE CAN STAGE A BIG ENOUGH "RALLY" USING DISENROLLED INDIANS FROM OTHE TRIBES. THAT COULD WORK STARTING WITH PECHANGA, THEN ANOTHER, AND ANOTHER. THAT WOULD DEFINITLY BRING THE PRESS, TV STATIONS, AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO LISTEN. THAT COULD BE IN THE THOUSANDS. ARE WE UP TO THE TASK? NO ONE SAID IT WOULD BE EASY, BUT HOW MUCH DO WE, AND THE OTHER TRIBAL MEMBERS THAT HAVE BEEN SCREWED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE TRIBES, WANT OUR HERITAGE BACK?

  4. I'M OPEN FOR SUGGESTIONS. WE CAN'T STAND BY DAY AFTER DAY AND SAY " O' WELL, POOR ME" AS THEY STEAL US BLIND AND LAUGH AT US AND "SAY DON'T WORRY THERE'S NOTHING THE HUNTERS' CAN DO TO US", WE PUT THEM OUT ILLEGALLY BUT NO ONE WILL FIND OUT THAT CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS WHAT THE "MACARRO CARTEL" THINKS. WERE NOT "SHEEP TO SLAUGHTER". THIS "RALLY" IS GOING FORWARD.

  5. INVOLVEMENT IS THE "KEY". I'M GOING TO BE WORKING ON THAT ASPECT WITH THE HELP FROM MY INDIAN BROTHERHOOD, YOU GUESSED IT, THE HUNTERS'. DOTTING THE I'S AND CROSSING THE T'S TO MAKE THIS "RALLY" SO MASSIVE THAT THE GOVERNMENT, AND MAYBE THE WHOLE NATION, HAS TO STAND BACK AND SAY "THESE DISENROLLED INDIANS" ARE TIRED OF BEING SCREWED. I KNOW IT IS A BIG JOB, AND THE "MACARRO CARTEL" PROBABLY THINKS IT'S JUST ANOTHER "SMOKE SCREEN", BUT WE ARE REAL "PECHANGA", AND LETS BAND TOGETHER AND GET BACK WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS-OUR HERITAGE-LIFE IS TO SHORT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT IN MY LIFETIME. PLEASE, THIS SO IMPORTANT. IF NOT FOR US, FOR OUR CHILDREN, WHO WILL NEVER KNOW OF OUR HERITAGE. IT WILL "DIE" WITH US. "HOW FAIR IS THAT"? AND THE "MACARRO CARTEL" WINS BY DEFAULT, BECAUSE WE DIDN'T TRY. COME ON, LETS GET MOTIVATED. I'M PARTIALLY RETIRED, BUT IF NECESSARY, I WILL TOTALLY RETIRE TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. DO NOT BRUSH ME ASIDE, FOR "I'M NOT GOING AWAY ANYTIME SOON". AS I SAID, START GETTING MOTIVATED AND START TALKING TO YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND OTHERS IN THE MEMBERSHIP ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN AND I WILL BE GETTING BACK TO ALL OF YOU, EITHER PERSONALLY, OR ON A WEBSITE I WILL PUT OUT THERE WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT. "THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN"

  6. Smokey, what about the people in your own family? How many of them are on board? How many are doing what you are doing?

Your kids? Your cousins. Where are they?

  7. BELIEVE ME, I'M WORKING ON THAT AT THIS VERY MOMENT. I'M TRYINGMOTIVATE ALL US HUNTERS' WHICH INCLUDES ALL MY FAMILY INCLUDING THE SPLINTER GROUPS. ARE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN, I HERE YOUR A HUNTER TOO. I'M NOW ON FACEBOOK AND WILL BE ENTERING TO THAT ASPECT WITH MY COUSIN, AND WILL LET YOU KNOW. FACEBOOK IS GOING TOBE AN INTRICAL PART OF THIS ENDEVER AND LOOK AT THE MIDDLE EAST. THAT WAS BECAUSE OF FACEBOOK. NOW IT'S OUR TURN TO CRANK UP THE HEAT FOR ONCE.

  8. Smokey, not to discourage you but we have picketed in front of Pechanga before and, as you know, some of the Hunters were on KNBC channel 4 news, and even though the report pointed out a lot of the unfairness of the disenrollments, not much came of it.

We have gotten like a hundred people to rally before a few times but still nothing has changed.

Like I said, not to discourage your plans but that is what you are up against. Some may think, been there, done that, and not participate.

I do hope that isn't the case.

  9. THAT'S BECAUSE WE DON'T FOLLOW THROUGH. YOU PICKET ONE DAY AND EVERYBODY GO HOME. NO IMPACT, JUST ANOYING. I MEAN A RALLY WHERE WE KEEP THE PRESSURE ON. DAYS IF NEED BE. WE DON'T NEED TO HAVE THE SAME PEOPLE THERE EVERY DAY, WE ROTATE AND WE COULD GO ON FOR WEEKS IF WE PLAN IT RIGHT. THIS WILL KEEP THE NEWS MEDIA INTERESTED. AND LIKE WITH A UNION PICKET LINE SOME OF THE CUSTOMERS WILL BE SIMPATHETIC TO OUR CAUSE AND TURN AROUND AND LEAVE. WITH PICKETS AND FLYER OVER MANY DAYS/WEEKS THEY WILL LISTEN, AND THE MEDIA WILL HAVE TO CONTINUE COVERING THIS TO SEE HOW IT WILL PLAY OUT. AGAIN ONE DAY SAYS NOTHING, JUST IRRITATING. KEEPING THE HEAT ON THEY WOULD HAVE TO LISTEN AND KNOW WE NOW MEAN BUSINESS AND THAT IT'S ON AND WE ARE NOT BACKING DOWN.

  10. Anonymous, things HAVE changed. Pechanga Tribal Council has been forced to SPEND much more money on politicians than they would have if we didn't protest.
We've been able to get the media interested, they still are and we've gotten Congress to STOP Pechanga from stealing OUR water. They've been exposed. We ALSO forced Pechanga to spend $50 MILLION more on their ad campaign for Prop. 94 than the other 3 tribes did COMBINED.
Pechanga has been EXPOSED. It's made it a bit harder and a bit more expensive to do business. THAT's what's been accomplished. That's why we still need everyone to stay focused, even on the small details.
The struggle may be a long one, but it's worth it for our children and grandchildren. We are fighting for what's rights, the CPP is fighting for what's WRONG.
