Tracey Avila, Tribal Chair of Robinson Rancheria, ARRESTED for GRAND THEFT

It was just a matter of time.   Tracey Avila, an inaugaral inductee into Original Pechanga's Blog  Native American Hall of Shame,  charged with EMBEZZLEMENT

The tribal chair for the Robinson Rancheria Pomo Indians turned herself into the Lake County Jail Friday after an arrest warrant had been issued earlier in the week.
Tracey Isabelle Avila, 50, had a $20,000 bench warrant issued for her arrest, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) website.
Avila faces one count of felony grand theft for allegedly embezzling thousands of dollars from the Elem Indian Colony between February and September 2006 while serving as that tribe's fiscal officer, according to chief deputy district attorney Richard Hinchcliff.
LCSO Lt. Chris Macedo said Avila turned herself in Friday afternoon and was later released on bail. Avila's next court date for this case is Oct. 31, according to the LCSO website.

We've posted on Tracey Avila numerous times   ANATOMY OF Robinson Rancheria Corruption.....   And Robinson Rancheria Disenrollment story....    and in April 2010, the BIA did not stand up for the aggrieved disenrollees...

  2. One down and how many to go? Well, I guess two down if you count Mark Macarro's mentor Bobby Salgado from Soboba but at least Soboba, at least so far, has not disenrolled anyone at least that I am aware of.

  3. for ALL nations...for ALL chukchansi peopleSeptember 14, 2011 at 12:44 AM

great news! even a little piece of justice feels good....is there a federal investigation brewing behind this arrest as well?

it is well known that scrutiny at redding, enterprise, picayune and pechanga--and many other gaming tribes-- would reveal more of the same on an even grander scale...what are the feds waiting for?

i find it ridiculous that those on council at picayune would seek to "make an example" of past general mangager jeff livingston--to be sentenced for embezzlement september 23rd in federal court--when several past and present individuals of the tribal council have been responsible for the theft from the tribe of so much more in terms of not only money , but the blatant theft of the very birthright of hundreds of individuals as chukchansi people, the violation of their people's tribal, civil, and human rights, and the very genocide of their own blood...

  14. folks you should ask whom she came to see at pechanga and you might find out they are really from pala?
just because pechanga people have had trouble doesn't mean the thugs haven't had help from outside. pala has had it's share of crooks long before this or smith!

  16. GET ONE HERE, AND ONE THERE FOR CORRUPTION IS TO SHOW THAT THE GOVERNMENT(INDIAN AFFAIR) IS HELPING THE BELEAGERED NATIVE AMERICAN. THAT'S NOT THE CASE. WHAT IT APPEARS TO BE IS THE TRIBAL LEADERS SACRIFICE ONE OF THEIR OWN THAT HAS GONE BEYOND COVERING UP THEIR CORRUPT ACTIONS, AND THE GOVERNMENT(INDIAN AFFAIRS)WORKS TO STOP ANY FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS INTO WHAT COULD BE ONLY THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG. IF THIS IS THE CASE IT "STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN!"

  17. It's been a long time coming. Ms. Avila and all the other (including the corrupt one's accross the the lake from from her) deserve to have this kind of light brought on themselves. Whatever happened to dignity, sacrifice, and pride. Not only in your self, but in your tribe and your ways...the ways of our elders.
Anthony H. Jack (another devious bastard) maybe, just maybe you're time is next. You cannot hide from Grandmother Spider's web either.
