Republican Representative Dan Lungren's team has been approached to get the Congressman to join in to a sign on letter concerning Indian Civil Rights.
His assistant, Peter told the constituents... Rep. Lungren isn't interested in that.
Wow, nice to know that Lungren doesn't deserve our support. Get LOST, DAN.
HERE is a letter asking for his support.
U.S. Rep. Lungren 4.13.12[1]
Not surprised.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how much Indian money has flowed his way?..it is public record isn't it?...why wouldn't he be interested in human rights?...is he republican or democrat?
ReplyDeleteRep. Mike Thompsen had the decency to ask for an oversight hearing due to the violations of civil rights in Indian Gaming Country.
ReplyDeleteApparently, Dan Lungren has no decency. Not Interested????? WTF
Rep. Lungren, YOU sir, should be ashamed. Your inaction will drive people to support your opponent.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't care about civil and human rights abuses in your OWN STATE, what do you care about?
PULL YOUR HEAD OUT
What is Ami Bera's position on the violations in California's Indian Country...?
ReplyDeleteAre we naive for expecting Rep. Lungren to act like a human being?
ReplyDeleteWhy should we want him representing us?
Rep. Lungren is a U.S. Rep. Dr. Ami Bera has just received the information and we don't know his position. We do know he has not been taught everything he knows by H. Dickstein and Dan is a "Good O'l Boy" and well trained so he won't even listen. Why doesn't he want to support giving teeth to existing federal legislation to ensure civil rights protections to everyone in America, including those on the REZ. HE PROBABLY HAS RECEIVED $$$$ FROM GAMING TRIBES AND PAC'S.
ReplyDeleteIT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE AND DAN NEEDS TO BE VOTED OUT OF OFFICE! HELP US GET THIS DONE! IF YOU CAN'T VOTE IN THIS DISTRICT, DONATE TO DR. AMI BERA...AT BERAFORCONGRESS.COM
I HAVE DIRECT PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE FACTS AND ABOUT THE MESSAGE LEFT THAT DAN LUNGREN WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE "SIGN ON LETTER" EFFORT. PETER FROM HIS OFFICE EVEN CALLED ME BACK TO INTIMIDATE ME AND SCOLD ME FOR MAKING THE REQUEST "POLITICAL" AS HE PUT IT. THEY USED THIS AS AN EXCUSE FOR TELLING ME THAT KNOW ONE FROM LUNGREN'S STAFF WOULD CALL OR TALK ABOUT THIS WITH US. SORRY DAN, THIS IS POLITICAL ...NO GUTS...NO GLORY. HE IS A COWARD AND CAN'T STAND UP FOR CIVIL RIGHTS OF ALL AMERICANS NO MATTER IF THEY ARE FROM THE REZ. SHAME, SHAME SHAME!

Sounds like Rep. Lungren may be getting some money from gaming tribes for his campaign. He has thousands of individual members in his state that are being stripped of their membership and he doesn't want to get involved. People my suggestion is do not vote for someone that will not stand up for your rights!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFor someone not interested, why does his office check this site so often?
ReplyDeleteI have personally written to Mr. Lungren regarding the abuses in native country, particularly at Pechanga, in response to this blog. Perhaps, he is receiving funds for supporting the abusive side, which would be a shame. But we should still call it out.
Let's not give him the option of "not getting involved."
Call them all out. Not to stereotype but it seems people of color, any color are supporters of natives. They feel bad for what has happened to us in the past. My suggestion would be to get their support. Representative Lungren must be getting something out of it, just like Madera County. Money makes people do dumb things.
ReplyDeleteole dan is a right wing nut and why would he care about civil rights he doesn't believe in anyones rights except his!! you folks must of been crazy to waste your paper writing to this nut.
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to write this off as Lungren being a right-wing nutjob.
ReplyDeleteIt's critical to note that the Democratic Party's Native American Caucus BUSSED in people to vote AGAINST civil rights for the individual Indian.
The supposed party of civil rights doesn't support us either.

Yes, at the Native American Caucus meeting in Anaheim in 2007 the leaders of the caucus did bring people to vote against supporting enforcement provisions for the ICRA and not only did they bring people to vote, a board member for the caucus paid people meal money to come to vote.
Also in 2007, at a state democratic convention in San Diego some of us talked to a lot of delegates and a lot of them said it was an internal affair and that the party should not get involved in such issues.
Not surprising as from Jerry Brown on down they are in the pocket of big gaming money.
