Irehne Scearse, sister of Raymond Basquez Sr, and one of the elders of the Masiel-Basquez Crime Family of the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians has died. She will have a wake on the reservation June 7th, and funeral on June 8th. May GOD forgive her
In the flyer for her passing, there was a note, possibly directed at her youthful family members: NO DRUGS OR ALCHOHOL. It's a shame that they would still have to point this out in writing, in order to maintain decorum.
To the detriment of HUNDREDS, Irehne, her sister Ruth Masiel conspired with the CPP and were two of the votes to terminate the Manuela Miranda descendents, claiming that as a FIVE YEAR OLD, Manuela Miranda cut her tribal ties by moving with a sister of the rez. Scearce avoided using her own hired expert's findings that Paulina Hunter was indeed Pechanga, instead using a letter from an imprisoned child molester and forced out the second family in 2006.
Light a candle at your Church that this woman who has abused elders and backstabbed friends may find peace.
A shame that she wasn't a better person.
ReplyDeleteI hope she regrets what she did. I'm sure her brother doesn't.
Surprised they didn't say NO GUNS, either. But that one is still in jail right?
ReplyDeleteI hate the Masiel 's , But don't you think your article is alittle tasteless?
ReplyDeleteTasteless no, may God have mercy on her soul and forgive her for what she has done. People can forgive individually, but when their lives have been ruined by others it will never be forgotten.
ReplyDeleteShe ain't getting a candle from me. I have no sympathy for liars and people you cause so much pain to others. She is one of many little hitlers in native country and the disenrolled are the jews. I will not forgive or forget except for the ones who try and fix the wrongs they have been part of. Only then can they be forgivin and on the right path. They need to admit they were wrong first before they die becuse by then it will be to late and if you really are a believer then you will have to answer in heaven/hell for lying and deceiving to disenroll so many.
ReplyDeleteWhen are the rest of the liars and crooks of native country that have disenrolled thousands over greed and power gonna drop dead?
ReplyDeletePer cap will be reduced once again in July due to over 80 new minors coming of age this year. The per cap is down almost 40% from it's heyday after the Hunter family was disenrolled. The word is out that the Garbani's are next to be brought into question regarding their lineage - we all know the end to that story. It is just a matter of time that greed will once again rule over enrollment. And the youth will not change the past decisions due to their own greed and pressure to keep enrollment low from the current members.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I don't under stand after More than 10 years shouldn't these tribes have other income streams besides the casinos don't they invest in other businesses with all that money some should go into other investments so the casino profit should only be half of the money coming in. Any good company making this kind of money would have a nice size portfolio by now and the casino income would be just one of several income streams. Don't put all your eggs in one basket because if that day ever comes you all gonna be like where did all the money go we should have used it to open others business/investments. I know has 20 mil a year for such things but according to Robert we have had several bad investments and lost millions and we just take his word for it with no proof. Makes u wonder where the money really is??
ReplyDeleteYes. There is only one God, and that god is not money, so I sincerely hope she realized who the real God is and asked for forgiveness of her sins before she died. However, I'm sure her relatives are already altering her will like they altered the BIA census records to include their relatives on the Pechanga Reservation Census even though they weren't born yet. lol relatives are lining up at her bank before it even opened.
ReplyDeleteIts still a tasteless article ( you should not trash talk the dead)
ReplyDeleteYou deal with it your way, and this is my way,..
O you who dwell In the house made of the dawn,
In the house made of the evening twilight . . .
Where the dark mist curtains the doorway,
The path to which is on the rainbow . . .
I have made your sacrifice.
I have prepared a smoke for you.
My feet restore for me.
My limbs restore for me.
My body restore for me.
My mind restore for me.
My voice restore for me.
Today, take away your spell from me.
Away from me you have taken it.
Far Off from me you have taken it.
Happily I recover.
Happily my interior becomes cool.
Happily my eyes regain their power.
Happily my head becomes cool.
Happily my limbs regain their power.
Happily I hear again.
Happily for me the spell is taken Off.
Happily I walk.
Impervious to pain, I walk.
Feeling light within, I walk . . .
In beauty I walk.
With beauty before me, I walk.
With beauty behind me, I walk.
With beauty below me, I walk.
With beauty all around me, I walk.
It is finished in beauty.
It is finished in beauty.
It is finished in beauty.
NO PHOTOS? Is the Crime Family afraid of getting their pictures in the paper? Are they Corleone's?
ReplyDeleteHow many Masiels to go after this one is down?
ReplyDeleteThrough Trials and Tribulations
ReplyDeleteWe stay together as family
We befriend those that are in the postion we are in
We find allies in our misfortune
We honor our elders by staying in the fight.
We do not honor those that have harmed us.
Death is too good for some
This one being one
One less cretin against us all
Let the Lord pass his judgement
Let us rejoice that they meet.
Let us rejoice that they meet and that she cleared up enrollment at pechanga.
ReplyDeleteAmen
Well, of Course, I didn't like what she did to me and my family and, really, I don't have a postive image of her as a person but, I like her son Ricky, he is a nice person, and I can't blame him for who his family is and what his family has done so, if I see him, as occasionlly I see him around town, I would offer my condolances to him for his loss.
ReplyDeleteExactly, the sins of the mother should not follow the son.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Irehne steal from the tribe for the splinter group? $6,000 wasn't it?
And there were some rumblings about her at the BIA office in Riverside?
She isn't the worst of the familt. Will the tribe allow Jenny back on the rez for the funeral?
ReplyDeleteLung Cancer made sure she suffered, as she forced suffering onto many. It's right and just
ReplyDeleteDear Grandma Irehne,
ReplyDeleteOf all the blessings of heaven, one of the greatest won't be you. You will be God's lost one, no work of art.
The Angels will Gasp at what you've done.
God's work will be completed because he's a forgiving God.
At last you will have a Heart like his
Though you've caused many hearts to break.
God I could see the comments if this was about "Jennys" Funeral.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like she was Catholic so if she was then she knew according to the church that God is forgiving, very forgiving, but you must be sorry for your offenses in order to be forgiven. If the devil has a hold of you in the physical world and you possess no guilt or conscience for your wrongdoings, then the devil has a hold of you in death, and it is hell that welcomes you. Maybe she was sorry towards the end, if she was then may this soul of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Theresa Nieto from Pala will be facing the same judgement. This is so sad to have to even think of a fellow Catholic in this manner, but in hell Catholics have the worst eternity because they know better.
ReplyDeleteGod I could see the comments if this was about "Jennys" Funeral.
ReplyDeleteI hope we have that opportunity soon.
Mark Macarro believes in the after life " he will be rewarded with 50 male virgins " !
ReplyDeleteI think you mean Leroy Miranda with the 50 MALE virgins. By the way has anyone seen him he hasn't been at the last few monthly tribal meetings? On a drug binge so I've heard. As an elected official isn't it his duty to attend the meetings as vice-chairman? Out of 90 days he can't find 1 to do his job and attend a meeting? I guess what's the point when he is there he doesn't speak anyway just sits there all tweaked out. Good luck getting re-elected in November especially without Robert Smith who is no longer backing him and having his people guarantee (if u know what I mean) his re-election. Robert wants to replace that embarrassment with one of his other supporters. Or he could just appoint someone like he did with his cousin Sheila even though according to the constitution we are suppose to vote in a new council member at the next tribal meeting. Robert skipped that and just appointed Sheila as a replacement last year. Then again Robert Smith is above the Pala constitution he doesn't need to follow it.... It just gets in his way. Like when we voted on term limits it was passed by general council (who according to constitution has final voting power) and he overturned it so he could stay as chairman. Sounds like something they do in the Middle East .
ReplyDeleteDing dong the wicket witch is dead no seriously who threw the bucket of water on her
ReplyDeleteContacting all disenrolled natives across California. Once we gather the numbers we are taking control of all tribal halls run by corrupt tribal councils who harm their own people simultaneously. The outside is not willing to help us and the same corrupt leaders like to say its an internal matter to keep others from seeing they have no just cause for their actions so now we will make it an internal matter. Doing this simultaneously will give us the attention we need from the media and government. It's time to make this happen. It's time we fight back. I know everyone wanted to do this legally we did too but that hasn't worked for any of the thousands of wrongfully disenrolled. It's time to take action. This is our REVOLUTION to overthrow corrupt oppressive regimes. It's been done throughout history with success. When the people are fed up by their dictatorship they fight back and that's what it's come to. For them it's about money and holding onto power, for us it's our heritage and family.
ReplyDeleteLet’s not forget Irene Scearce Raymond Basquez sister. When she was in the riverside B.I.A. she forged her family’s blood quantum. All the B.I.A. did was moved to another dept but the proof is that Rita Basquez (Raymond daughter) went to school under her new blood quantum. It was found out and she had to drop out and pay back the grant money. This all happened in 1970 so if the B.I.A. covered up the forgery of Irene it is on record Rita had to pay back her grant money. Now the allotment that Raymond is on is gracias allotment. Irene is said to have forge again the allotment to her family. Her mother Francisca Leivas Basquez was squatting on this land at the time. Now I have heard from some of the elders I’m talking like born in the 20s and 40s that they new Mr. Basquez and Francisca Leivas and they came from Chile that’s strange they would say Chile not Mexico unless it true. At the time Irene was forging papers for her family Vincent Ibanez and Ed Berbee were going to see Irene at the B.I.A... Now I have been told that the allotment that Vincent is on is not from his family. He was the care taker of an elderly member and when she died she gave him her allotment. So the Ibanez’s are not original allottees. So was Irene helping Vincent fix the allotment paper work?
ReplyDeleteThe Garbani's are GOING DOWN! They were saved briefly for their vote on the EC.
ReplyDeleteI heard that to but this was a few weeks ago. The tribe was disenrolling certain parts of the Garbani's.
ReplyDeleteIrehne and the night stalker, this is a bad week for evil.
ReplyDeleteI used to come to this website/blog to get information about disenrollment, now it just seems like it is a place to disrepects tribal communties and bad-mouth people for your own gain. This site is full of shit, and the crediability of your argumnets is getting weakjer and weaker. If yoiu want to be taken seriously, stop acting and talking like children. Shame on you for disrespecting a families loss. Is that the way you were taught as children to behave? You keep losing crediability everytime you post stupid, disrespectful, post. Why not be serious and use argument, facts, and imagination to put forth your arguments concerning disenrollment. I will no longer take this website seriously, and/or beleive any posts, they are steeped in hearsay, accusations, and gossip.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with you. True some people have accomplished a lot of good for others during their life but some have caused much harm and suffering for many. Such as Hitler, Stalin, Bin Ladin, etc. All of whom deaths were celebrated. They will all receive their punishment in due time. Irene wasn't even dead yet when the family began fighting over her stolen money and land. But Raymond Basquez Sr. won the fight getting all her savings and home. Even kicking out her children from their own house. He has always been the leader of the Basquez/Masiel family and always gets his way!
ReplyDeleteShame on you for disrespecting a families loss?
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me ? They raped the shit out of people ?
Murphy (Fake white guy) Macarro,Masiel, Garbeano ,Perez,Magee Raped the shit out of several people ( raped them hard )?
And now you want people to show respect to ( Bin laden )? You get the point ?
I used to come to this website/blog to get information about disenrollment, now it just seems like it is a place to disrepects tribal communties and bad-mouth people for your own gain. This site is to bring the shady practices that tribes do to their people to light. The spotlight is the best disinfectant. This site is full of shit, and the crediability of your argumnets is getting weakjer and weaker. Which part do you think is full of shit? Every issue we bring up here, is backed by evidence on disenrollments of the two major families and those in the moratorium. If yoiu want to be taken seriously, stop acting and talking like children. This site IS taken seriously. It is viewed on a regular basis by the BIA, the House AND Senate, by the Pechanga Tribe. Shame on you for disrespecting a families loss. Is that the way you were taught as children to behave? Really? disrespecting a CRIME FAMILY? The criminals who carjack, trade drugs, shoot at people, steal from the tribe and who engineered the theft of tribal rights and benefits from over 400 members? That family? Are you serious? Respect? The same family who told our elders "GET A JOB" That family?
ReplyDeleteYou keep losing crediability everytime you post stupid, disrespectful, post. Why not be serious and use argument, facts, and imagination to put forth your arguments concerning disenrollment.
Obviously, you do not read much, as this site doesn't just talke about Pechanga's disenrollment. We've shared the issues at Snoqualmie, Redding Rancheria, Pala, Laytonville, Jamul, Chukchansi, San Pasqual. Read more. I will no longer take this website seriously, and/or beleive any posts, they are steeped in hearsay, accusations, and gossip. BUH-BYE. I don't believe you come here to learn anything. More likely, you are a tribal member just trying to obfuscate.
Uh, this same family wanting respect for the dead was the same family threatening to dig up our ancestors from the Pechanga cemetary. They deserve no respect from anyone.
ReplyDeletePechanga Rez is Hell,
ReplyDeleteThe first place in my life where I have seen people waiting and wishing people would fucking die!
I have NEVER seen a Funeral notice bring so much HATE comments ?
And I believe this is the first of many!
Oh we'll get used to it BECUASE every time one of the lying cheating thieves of pechanga dies before they admit to their wrong and fix it people are gonna celebrate when they DIE!
ReplyDeleteMatt 13:39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels
ReplyDeleteOriginalPechanga 1:21 She who was evil shall be judged by her peers as evil and given no respect that is unearned.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing being said here that isn't true. All the comments are factually supported, she forged, lied, and stole. This is a person that devoted their life to harming others. Going out of her way to harass people, attempted to rewrite history. Her actions at the BIA prove this was a person with o morals.
ReplyDeleteHow Did Raymond get her money ? And how could he kick her own children out of their home?..when will this jerk get caught and punished?.arent his daughters ex druggies?
ReplyDeleteAnd didn't his son have a criminal record also? Why does this non Pechanga( according to what I read on here) idiot have so much power? He sure is an ugly looking little troll.
And that loud mouth wife of his.! He is supposed to be so into the tribe, why did he marry a fat loudmouth white woman?
To anonymous June 8 3:01 AM the postings are facts the comments are from people that have been wronged. The Leivas family has lied, stolen and pushed the disenrollment of true natives from their tribe so to have them show respect is a little much. I wonder when Bernie Madoff dies how many people are going to have disrespectful comments for him or will that be disrespectful.
ReplyDeleteRemember, Scearse is also complicit in keeping the Tosobol family from their rightful place in the tribe
ReplyDeleteThe two posts the Tosobols are NOT the only ones in the moratorium.
ReplyDeleteThere is 300 or 400 Ursua is another family. These people have stronger proof and paperwork then the disenrolled .
The Masiels and Jennie or terrorists know this.
Can someone list her current blood on the tribe ?
ReplyDeleteShe is related to Jennie , andy? Raymond yollie?
Wheres the picture?
ReplyDeleteThought URSUA was TOSOBOL?? Tell us more about that...
ReplyDelete".... These people have stronger proof and paperwork then the disenrolled ."
ReplyDeleteWe were informed that it didn't matter WHAT paperwork or proof we had, that paper work meant NOTHING.
I don't know how you could have stronger... stronger than witnessed signatures from members of the period that they knew us as members? Stronger than being on the Tribal rolls from since the creation of the reservation? Hmmm prehaps... I will just have to take your word at that, as I am sure it is possible.
Good luck, but I think you would find that they don't care about paperwork or proof though.
ursua, tosobal their all getting screwed, 2014 just around the corner, moratorium up?
ReplyDeleteOne last comment to O Pechanga. I am not an enrolled tribal member. I have lived my whole life on a Southern California Indian Reservation and am interested in researching the disenrollment issue currently unfolding. I used to visit Pala Watch, I used to visit this site, I would read all of the documents, and comments. Now I am at a loss, most of the arguments that I call childish, and stupid are the ones utilized to undermine tribal sovereignty, that promote anti-Indianness, and that are anti-tribal community. Growing up on a reservation pre-casino allowed me to witness a lot of reservation life. Families fighting each other, internal politics, but I always remembered how much respect people had for each other in times of grief, loss, and when culture was needed. It does not matter how many people read your blog, or who reads it, what matters is what kind of language you post on this blog, and what types of arguments you put forth in terms of their underlining assumptions and subtexts. I am not picking sides, I think dis-enrollment sucks for the dis-enrolled, but at the same time I am for tribal sovereignty and the protection of tribal resources and community integrity. I came here to this website to understand the issues, to get opinions and facts, and most importantly to try and understand what dis-enrollment means, now since you continually bad-mouth tribal governments, tribal communities, tribal casinos, and ultimately tribal sovereignty, I will not longer visit this site. I will stick to Turtle Talk from a reputable and more enlightening blog. Bye.
ReplyDeleteTo anonymous a tribe has constitutions and bylaws that they follow that were set forth by the tribe. Now if you have a group of people that are in place of that tribal government it does not mean that they can do anything that they want they need to follow their tribal constitution. Now sovereignty does not whoever is in control of the tribal government they can do whatever they want. When we talk about disenrollment being illegal it is because it is illegal by the tribal constitution and bylaws. Being a tribal member is not a country club there is a criteria that the tribes has set in their constitution and bylaws whether it is blood quantum or linier descent. So when a tribal government illegally disenroll and throws up sovereignty to hide their crime then sovereignty need to be addressed because sovereignty was not meant to be used to commit crimes against its own people. So by these tribal governments like Pala and Pechanga using sovereignty to hide their crimes and not expect to be called out on this and then cry that sovereignty is being attack it is by their own actions that sovereignty is looked at.
ReplyDeleteTO ANONYMOUS 2:17 South Africa was a sovereign nation too. That did not stop most nations from joining the economic boycott and shaming them publicly.
ReplyDeleteYou can promote tribal sovereignty. That DOES NOT MEAN you must agree with what they do with it. Pechanga practices apartheid on their reservation.
They are systematically trying to restrict the mobility of people who have lived on the reservation their entire lives, unlike: Mark Macarro, Andrew Masiel and others on the council.
There is NO community integrity, otherwise the Pechanga Council would have followed the will of the people and ended ALL disenrollment. Their former tribal chairperson wouldn't have absconded with slot machines and the enrollment committee wouldn't have paid for a researcher, force us to have red-ribboned paperwork, then disregard their expert and take hearsay evidence from a child molester IN PRISION. They wouldn't have ignored evidence taken in the Luiseno language by people who KNEW Paulina Hunter or Manuela Miranda.
Turtle Talk is great for links. But tribal casinos for tribes that harm their own people deserve our scorn, not our partnership in their activity.
anti-Indianness ( Good)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry O Pechanga but that person at 2:17 is such a phony letter writer...it is so obviously a tribal member trying to make you look bad...the letter makes zero sense. The person understands tribal life, yet she respects disenrollment? What a joke!...and they just needed to write you and slam you nd say goodbye!....what your tribe has done to you needs to see more light, not less. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
ReplyDeleteIT's important to keep responding to the phony writers so that we can keep explaining for new readers.
ReplyDeleteCongress checks this blog regularly, and we can see them going through the comments.
They say goodbye, yet keep coming back. Good for them. We need to keep bringing MORE readers here..
How many people went to the funeral?
ReplyDeleteDid a lot of people go to ... celebrate her life, or just to make sure she was dead?
Was Jennie allowed on the reservation for the burial?
Is the Basquez family even allowed to be around each other?
ReplyDeleteI thought felons weren't supposed to be around OTHER felons?
Wouldn't that be a mass violation of parole and probations?
If congress knows what's going on why don't they do something or reach out to people like Washburn to do the right thing and even enforce the BIA's rulings that the corrupt councils like Robert Smith disobey.
ReplyDeletestay on the pala article (robert smith )?
ReplyDeleteBack to pechanga, whens the last time any of you went in and talked to a congressman in his office?
Disenrolled ?
Congress doesn't do anything because there is NOT enough pressure on them TO do something.
ReplyDeleteIf you/we don't have the cash that the tribes have, we only have our voices. That can be a powerful tool, but NOT when you don't exercise it every day.
You can't sit back for months and then hope something happens.
There are news articles throughout the country that could be commented on. You could visit the palawatch.com site multiple times per day to build traffic.
You could email all your friends to check those sites like this one, tribalcorruption.com Send letters to TRIBES like San Manuel asking them why they don't stand against tribes that hurt their own people.
Pala had 160 people disenrolled, how many of them are working to do something like keep the corruption of Robert Smith in the open?
IT takes work and effort...
The last post ( WTF )? lol
ReplyDeletewhat a horrible person.
ReplyDelete
