Shameful: Pechanga Tribes' Indian Child Welfare Act: Get Rid of Indian Children

We've read stories about Baby Veronica, the Cherokee child adopted out to white parents, whose birth father wanted his parental rights restored.  This was an Indian Child Welfare Act issue and parental rights.

Attorney J Eric Reed of Dallas:   “The constitutional questions surrounding every aspect of the Indian Child Welfare Act were vigorously debated by Congress, which enacted this legislation to protect the ultimate health and welfare of all indigenous children in the United States. Those hearings uncovered a very tragic reality in the systematic abusive child welfare practices toward Indians in state courts that resulted in the separation of great numbers of Indian children from their families and tribes..."

The Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians has done more harm than the adoptive parents of Veronica who loved her.

The Pechanga Band, led by Mark Macarro, wiped out the history of 150 Indian children from his own tribe, via two large disenrollments we have been discussing on this blog for six years.

One family, descended from Manuela Miranda was disenrolled when it was determined that a FIVE YEAR OLD CHILD, cut her ties to the tribe when she moved away from the reservation to be with her adult sister.   WTF?   When can a FIVE YEAR old make that determination?

Descendents of the HUNTER family were escorted OFF Tribal school property after disenrolling their parents.

We added this post to the Temecula Patch Can you go to that site and Like it on FB and tweet it out? We are expecting a big story from the PATCH to break shortly.

Robert Smith disenrolled I believe 84 minors and absorbed the millions they had in their trust accounts that was percap and so should have been divided as such between the remaining members. I wonder what happen to that money and so should the Pala tribal members and the IRS or Feds.

And all those non- tribal girls that are marrying into the tribe are pumping out babies to keep the per cap going ino their old age.....it's like a paying slot machine....if the tribal ways are so important to the Pechanga people, why not marry other tribal people instead of watering down the bloodline?..and you really think these non- tribal girls are marrying into the tribe for anything else but the money.?
Look at that loud mouth woman that Raymond married. Imagine learning to become a dealer through that big mouths school...

Soon soon the time will come when many lies will unravel and the truth will come out.

Its not a valid fight "or topic" .

None of you were given up for adoption or taken away from your Indian family and placed in a "white home".

Pick and choose the right fight.

Not true, children were kicked out, while their "family" cousins, uncles, aunts were allowed to remain in the tribe.

Pechanga's act is an act against children too. That is ALWAYS the right fight.

Child abuse pure and simple. Those kids will remember this action by those brown shirted Pechanga Tribal Rangers...

Pechanga's EC is 100% evil to treat their own people like they have, to completely abolish the people who they have known forever as enrolled members while they give handouts to white lawyers and politicians who have no relation to the tribe at all, just so they can put more money in their own pockets. They should be hanged for the heinous crimes they have committed. Hell is definitely waiting for them with a front row seat. They can say it was justly done, but it was the most unjust thing a tribe can do, treating members like common criminals, it is just sickening. Pala's EC is right behind them in their criminal acts too. So sorry for all the disenrolled, may you find peace and happiness, and may you see justice against the evil doers.

IRS, FBI, SEC, I know the Feds are looking into Pechanga, but those sound like good places to start. Has anyone sent inquiries?

It's not "if" it's "when" we Pechanga & Pala disenrollee's are reinstated. It's only a matter of time. The tribe did not disenroll us, the corrupt Chairmans did with lies. When they are out we will be reinstated. The BIA from the highest level has already stated we should stay on the rolls due to no evidence for disenrolment. Once chairman smith dies, is arrested, or somehow thrown out by tribal force the wrongfully disenrolled will be back. He can't keep deceiving people forever "it's only a matter of time"

It's shameful that greed and corruption has taken over these tribes. Someone ( IRS, FBI) needs to look into where the money from the children of Palas trust funds went. That money should have been left in trust until they are of age to receive it. Better yet they should still be putting money into their trust funds because they should have never have been disenrolled in the first place children or adults

I pray everyday for these wrong acts to be made right. VENGENCE IS THE LORDS!!When I see this video it brings tears to my eyes I remember the day my children were escorted out of the school like it was yesterday. I will never forget the silence of the ones who said they loved me and my family and did nothing. I also remember the ones who are still fighting to make things right. Never ever give up! My children have gone through a lot of things over these last 7 years but they are resilient now I got one in college. Thanks for posting the video it helped remind me that I can never give up on doing what I can to make sure these evil people get what they deserve.

what was it like getting that per cap every month?

It was very nice. And something that really helped our family out.

It's sad that some families missed that opportunity.

I'm glad the Hunter and Apis family members on the Pechanga enrollment committee stood up for those who deserved to be in the tribe.

Sad that the relations in the Vasquez/Ibanez family didn't do the same.

Our families were disenrolled for standing up for the Tosobol/Rios/Aguirre clan after the deceit by Frances Miranda was exposed.

Is it Vasquez or Basquez?...I have read a lot of bad things about Raymond Basquez on here....he and his family sound like real winners.....

The Vaaquez and the Basquez are not related. In fact, some of the people from the Hunter family who are disenrolled are also named Vasquez but are not related to either.

So, this week, we wrote about the NSA quietly admitting that there had been intentional abuses of its surveillance infrastructure, despite earlier claims by NSA boss Keith Alexander and various folks in Congress that there had been absolutely no "intentional" abuses. Late on Friday (of course) the NSA finally put out an official statement admitting to an average of one intentional abuser per year over the past ten years. The AP is reporting that at least one of the abuses involved an NSA employee spying on a former spouse. Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal suggests that spying on love interests happens somewhat more often:
