Re-POST: KCBS Channel 2 reporter CRISTY FAJARDO reports on disenrollment for greed and power tonight. Pay special attention as to how WEAK the responses are from the two tribal chairmen, Mark Macarro and Robert Smith! They can lie and obfuscate with ease.
Here is the video:
I've read several editorials lately calling for the State to start allowing everyone(not just tribal) to have gambling. The State could even run it themselves much like they do the lottery and make much more tax money than they get from the tribes. I think 2014 is going to see some attempts at putting it on the ballot for voter approval....and then you are going to see some crying tribal members trying to figure out where the gravy train went.
ReplyDeleteThat will never happen people like gambling and casinos but not in their local grocery store. That's what will happen if gambling is legalized for the entire state. Secluded places like reservations ya. Tribes just need to show the gov't they can be responsible and use the money for what it was entitled for "the tribe" " the people" not for certain tribal leaders to use as they see fit.
ReplyDeleteNever say never....money changes everything....and you said yourself....people like gambling...maybe they would like to see it in grocery stores....don't most stores have machines with lottery tickets already?....those are basically slot machines.
ReplyDeletei heard that pala is going to take another cut in per capita soon. smith said at a meeting that there is not enough money being generated to keep things as they are. but he didn't give the 34,000 back when they drew his name for a new car last month at the casino. in fact he bragged about saying that he was going to by another race horse, or some shit liker that.
ReplyDeleteOf course they drew his name, it was probably the only name in there. He should not even be allowed to participate.
ReplyDeleteSmith is the biggest thief out there,he pads his pockets with cash while lowering every ones per cap.The Idiots who vote his way at meetings are just as much to blame. There are some dumb ass people in Pala.
ReplyDeleteSMITH SAYS THERE IS NOT ENOUGH MONEY BUT WHY DOESNT SOMEONE ASK WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE MONEY THAT WAS IN TRUST FOR THE KIDS THAT WERE DISENROLLED THAT WAS ALOT OF MONEY AND WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MONEY THAT CAME FROM ALL THE DISENROLLED PER CAP WHY DOESNT SOMEONE ASK ABOUT ALL THAT MONEY WHERE IS IT HOW CAN EVERY INVESTMENT BE BAD IF THAT IS THE CASE THEN THEY SHOULD HIRE SOMEONE ELSE TO MAKE THE INVESTMENT CHOICES!!!!! THINK ABOUT IT PEOPLE REALLY!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnyone remember when there was an article in the L.A. Weekly written by Ben Westhoff? In that article Kilma Lattin was interviewed and he said that Pala's investments were going to help supplement casino revenue and the tribe would have financial security even if the Casino revenue began to slow down.
ReplyDeleteSince Kilma is a former member of the Pala EC he would know more about the financial performance of Pala's investments. Then again he might be as big a liar as Robert Smith. The point is though that the investments have not been lost. They have been converted. It is a practice that Howard Dickstein has perfected. The leaders of the tribes he counsels convert the investments of the tribe into personal income.
I have no doubt that Robert Smith simply reports the investments as lost to the General Council and then converts them over to himself. All he has to do is make the investments in his name instead of the tribe's. Who is there to stop him from doing that?
Smith is such a fucking pussy. he needs body guards to even take a shit.
