A nice gesture....but they should CASH the check rather than deposit it....trust..but verify. Why would the tribe be surprised at the closure of the casino when they are a YEAR AND A HALF late with audits?
Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino employees were told Friday they’ll be getting an extra week of pay in the wake of last week’s sudden shutdown.
The casino notified its workers about the gesture in a letter.
“Chukchansi understands the burden this places on our team members and you will all be paid an extra week through Oct. 16, 2014,” the letter says. “The sudden closure of the casino by state and federal authorities has taken us all by surprise. We apologize for any inconvenience this unexpected closure has caused you and your families.”
thats nice of them to do this for all of us. Thanks to all 3 groups fighting and bickering now everyone is screwed out jobs also no longer have health care. As you seen on the news all you hear is them crying about monies with their pouting faces.
ReplyDeleteAs an outside to this development it appears there are a couple opposing perspectives. The first is the tribal counsel is truly surprised that such actions would occur or the tribal council was well aware and was incapable of action either deliberately or because they were incompetent. Either way the people that are hurt are the employees and general membership.
ReplyDeleteAgain as an outsider there is no up side for if the tribal council was surprised then this is proof of their inability to handle their own affairs. If it is the other option then this proves they are liars who do not care about the rest of the tribal membership, the employees, or for the greater good of all Indian peoples. j
You can bet there will be people who will seek to use this fiasco to further their own agenda. I can only guess what the damage will be to the rest of Indian country. People like to generalize. If one Indian tribe can act this way then eventually they all will. That's how people will think. This will be the belief of the greater community especially if it serves their purpose.
Remember this is a different issue than the one we fight. With players who have the ability to negatively effect all gaming in CA most tribes have not made such errors in judgment. The evidence is the casino was shut down and there is nothing the tribe can do about it. The power the tribe(s) have is illusionary. They are being allowed to run their interest the way they want because those who have the power to stop them are profiting, but once the money flow stops so will the support for the tribes and their casinos.
Mighty white of them,....
ReplyDeleteWhat they, and all the other corrupt Tribes don't realize is they are allowing "The Door" to the Feds to open changing the laws on governing Tribal Casinos. It will happen soon because of so many tribal members being dis- enrolled like never before in history. The Feds laugh because they are watching the Indian people destroy themselves. But Casinos are a money maker. Wouldn't it be funny if legal state gaming came into law in every state. The Indian's would all be up a creek with NO MORE PADDLE!
ReplyDeletePeople open your eyes before it's tooooooooo lateeeeeeeee!
All you greedy indians care about is the casino and it's money. Who would give a damn about the state making all gaming legal if your tribe was healthy and happy?????? Only you greedy! As long as these corrupt greedy council members have millions backing their feuds they won't stop the fighting. It's what keeps their pockets full. How many other tribal members make what these creeps make in a month??????? It's a hell a of alot more than per cap. The casino is not the way! Tribes need to find a fair equal venture for all. Their weak minds and evil souls can't handle the idea of such large amounts. They don't need it. Take away the per cap and give a job, give incentives for those who prosper in school, employment, community. All these greedy councils do is fill their pockets and pay for the demise and destruction of the people, one tiny per cap check at a time. It's not enough to live on just enough to get that high till the next one. Native Americans should be ashamed!!!!!! There is no pride with in the culture.
ReplyDeleteFire them all starting with the casino security that let stc security in the back. And all the one's reggie payed off to get him into the casino.
ReplyDeleteTo the comment above me. I worked at this casino for many years. The tribal members have had jobs at the casino. I also seen that some of them cant handel the responsibility of a job. I have seen some of them been rehired so many time that they wont even take them back any more becuse some not all cant handle the responsibilitys of a job. I say to thoes members who have done well in the casino congrats on a job well done.
ReplyDeleteCasino security was fine they got caught by text armed thugs! None of you are tribal police not one has gone thru the academy! Just calling your self tribal police does not make it so.
