Here is another interesting allegation from the lawsuit: Defendant Linda Basquez regularly tells students and prospective students that she can guarantee them employment at the Pechanga Resort and Casino because her husband, Defendant Raymond Basquez is a member of the Pechanga Tribe and former member of the Pechanga Tribal Council.
Trading on her husbands alleged "good name"? What a tangle web they weave....

ReplyDeleteThe school was originally owed by Jennie Miranda but she had to get rid of it because as a PDC officer there was a conflict. so Raymond took over. wile under Jennie and rolled over to Raymond dealers could not be hired unless they went to that dealers school and then they had to give a percentage of their pay after being hired.

Seriously tho, every dealer that graduated from that school is an illegal dealer without a license. If a school isn't accredited, the diplomas are invalid. The Gaming Commission at Pechanga ( which are Pechanga members) sure aren't doing their job either. They should be checking on the status of the schools license. But why would they? Just like they wouldn't report that the machines have been turned to less and less wins. If they did, their per cap would go daown. Very self serving this gaming commission. Who lets their own members be on the gaming commission? Certainly not Vegas. Why is it allowed in Califirnia. It should be an outside commission not made of tribal members.

The saddest part is this truth is dishonoring our Ancestors who were the targets of the greedy land grabbers when our lands were targeted by settlers. This lawsuit is a bunch of lies. all students received training and passed their auditions and gaming on their own. Noone was ever promised a job, Being a former student this school trained me correctly and gave me the courage and skills to be a good dealer. I went to other schools and couldn't get a job. the auditioners were very happy with my skills. Being a dealer is a privilege! I have recommended CCC to several people and have had several friends change dealing schools due to the curriculum. I got mine training with them and all casinos I auditioned with offered me jobs due to my training and professionalism! There is no where to get better training then with top dealers that have several years of experience with casinos.

Let's get the facts straight. The lawsuit against Casino Career Center is backed by Benny Cosentino who is suing Pechanga casino for millions of dollars. He was an undercover snitch for DOJ for 5 years & he worked for CCC for the last year. Not wanting to work, like the regular American citizens. He found a loophole in CCC's website. Because he already has a lawsuit pending with Pechanga Casino, he found Vanessa Gutierres (a student of CCC) to file a suit against CCC. Vanessa got a job at a casino because of her training at CCC. I'm positive that Benny talked her into this lawsuit. CCC was never an illegal school. They have been exempt since 2007 from having to apply for an approval from CA to run the school. (Act of 2009 - look it up) Benny, stop with your anonymous messages! Now everybody knows it's you. Once a snitch, always a snitch. And for the record, the comments about Raymond Sr being a felon is not correct. Look up Riverside County records. It is not Raymond Sr! BTW students are given a Certificate of Completion. No school is College Credited.

I know for a fact there are people "instructors" working at that school with as little as two weeks experience working in a casino and one of them cant even get a gaming license so he works at a card room. ReplyDeleteI don't know anything about Mrs. Basquez, but if Mr. Basquez cared about people, he wouldn't have helped get rid of hundreds of fellow tribal members via disenrollment, kicking people out of his tribe, that was done without proof people don't belong and without due process of law. No wonder that a lot of us believed that Mr. Basquez wasn't doing right by the students at the dealier school. After all, if someone will cheat his own, doesn't it follow he could cheat others?

It's good to see people sticking up for Raymond. He has done some good things to turn his life around. That doesn't mean he hasn't done bad things, nor worked to harm hundreds of others.
I am one of those people. My children are those people, my grandchildren are those people.

The Basquez, Masiel family is part of the broadcasting of misinformation on the Hunter Clan. If they think it's ok to step forward and disrespect others rights and our Ancestors who help create Pechanga, then they can have their actions broadcast while they face the truth. ReplyDeletei am sorry but i read through most of the complaint and if the business was so illegal or unlicensed for so many years. I am sure the state would have shut them down. If the complainant was so unhappy with the school why did she continue to go and successfully graduate from the school. the fact that she did not make it through gaming has nothing to do with the school. For what reasons she didn't pass gaming has not been disclosed. I have looked into the school in the past and the information i received was helpful at no time in the visit was i LURED or PROMISED anything. I was told to come back or call with any questions. I ended up keeping my current job so did not pursue this career but have had several friends go through them and successfully gotten jobs with out promises. people have to pass a audition the school cannot take it for you. I hope it works out for them. like i said obviously they are legitimate in some way or would not have been successful all these years.

ReplyDeleteThe fact is, it's unlicensed. If they advertised that they were LICENSED, then, it's FALSE ADVERTISING.
You can be successful and still do illegitimate things. See Pala, Pechanga, Valley View for examples.
On the other hand, past BAD activity isn't an indicator of current or future bad activity.....but which way would you bet?
I see the pro school goon is back again but this time trying a different approach. What's the chance of some outside person just happened to check that school out and also the OP web site? Phony comment. Wonder which Basquez member wrote it?

So many miss informed people here. geeze do your homework. Raymond doesnt even own the school and Jenni Miranda did not give it to raymond. it was bought from Roy and Ron. I cant believe all the miss information on here and talking about things that are irrelevant to the case. Good thing you all are posting anonymous or there would clearly be some new lawsuits for defamation of character.

I bet there would only be internal matters had the CPP practiced custom and tradition and followed Bylaws and Constitutions. The CPP faction and others would rather practice apartheid acts, bullying, not honoring Ancestors and try to hide behind Sovereignty shield to complete their agenda. If he does not immediately disown her and her kids we will do everything possible to dis enroll him and further our connections with him and his family. Raymond you have embarrassed our name long enough and you our a disgrace to the REAL members of this community.
ReplyDeleteI glanced through the misinformation and inaccurate associations above while researching my Fathers' step-mother Lillian Basquez from the 1960's era, and could not locate her here in this medium. I'm certain of one thing only, my Father was misrepresented because he married a woman who misrepresented him. She was indeed a gold digger and there are story I've heard that made me blush. My Dad always signed and handed the check over to my Mom when he was raising us all without ever questioning what it was used for. He worked in a trailer factory and at times barely made enough to clothe and feed us all. He was the one that helped initiate the casino and was there for the first shovel of dirt dug back in the early 1990's. Linda was the culprit if there was one cheating, I have no doubt. By the way some of you I'm sure we're happy to hear he died a terrible death of cancer. She kept his children away from him for the most part and even at the end I had to struggle to see hi by his deathbed. His anniversary is this November first. May those of you who spoke ill of my Dad know peace now 'cause that is what he tried to exemplify through his Native cereand teschings. I wish you no harm, only harmony. Love, Light and Blessings.
