Thank You, BIA for Visiting this blog OFTEN, It takes Away the "We didn't KNOW" defense.

Over the past four weeks or so, I've been keeping track of the visits to this blog by the BIA.  NO, not the builders, the United States Bureau of Indian Affairs.

BIA
Not helpful to THOUSANDS of Native Americans

I'm PROUD to say that over 65 separate BIA computers have checked in on our blog here.  We've had some of my family and some San Pasqual people sending them emails about what's been going on here.

Thankfully, they've pulled their heads out enough to take a look.  While FEW will do the right thing, for fear of losing a cushy government job, at least, when I testify before congress, I'll be able to show them that the BIA knows how tribes are acting outside their constitutions...and do not protect the rights of Native Americans, nor are they doing their fiduciary duty.

NO WONDER they have to pay big on Cobell...and the Navajo... what's NEXT?

  1. It is best to assume that is friends that are checking in on your site. Not everyone in the BIA is bad news. Yes it is difficult for the real workers and real Indians of the BIA to do the right thing because those at the top are so corrupt. There are those that need to be praised and yes there are those that need to be arrested and imprisoned. I doubt seriously that it is the latter that are reading the posts and comments on this site. So when you do testify before congress do remember and do explain that there are several good people within the BIA. It is for this reason that the corruption needs to be exposed and the BIA needs to be cut off at the head and let the real work of protecting the rights of Indians operate as it should.

  2. Come on Honest people, it is time to come forth and bring back some kind of values. Indian Country needs the good BIA Officials to help somehow.

  3. The Job of the BIA has always been assimilation. They are the Bureau of Indian Assimilation. To them, disenrollments is just another path toward assimilation.

  4. The B.I.A. needs to be dissolved. It is an obsolete entity. They only accomplish things for wealthy tribes. Their services are for sale, for example, the federal recognition for the Untied Auburn Indian Community. That only cost about $400, 000. The People know...

  5. Dissolving the BIA allows for the dissolving of tribal sovereignty and the ultimate destruction of all tribes.

  6. You guys who want to dissolve the BIA are complete idiots. I guarantee none of you have a college education. The last post pretty much said it all. Get your head out of your asses. Sovereignty is not an inherent right, it is given. There are some really stupid people on this page. It almost justifies why you're disenrolled. You couldn't figure out the politics in your tribe so you blame the BIA. Very indian of you. Blame everyone else for your laziness. Wake up people!!

  7. Sovereignty isn't given by the BIA. It is inherent:

"Tribal sovereignty refers to the fact that each tribe has the inherent right to govern itself. Before Europeans came to North America, Native American tribes conducted their own affairs and needed no outside source to legitimate their powers or actions. When the various European powers did arrive, however, they claimed dominion over the lands that they found, thus violating the sovereignty of the tribes who already were living there."

  8. "when you testify before congress"?. When do you see that happening? You over estimate the importance of this blog. Again, this is a blog. Blogs are just opinions. Just like the bloggers that don't like breakfast all day at McDonalds.

The only thing the BIA is aware of is there is a blog.

    Blogs are just that-- opinions.

  9. And opinions, something about everyone has one?

  10. The BIA is constantly defending itself in Court. There was quite a bit of back and forth between Congress and the BIA over the revisions to the Federal Acknowledgement requirements. It is a possibility that there may be investigations or hearings related to BIA actions and decisions in disenrollments. So don't dismiss the notion. There is widespread corruption in the Bureau, and there is always the possibility that Congress will get tired of funding this endless stream of litigation.

  12. You think this Blog is going to encourage them to fix themselves? It takes more than that Sir

  13. No blog would encourage the BIA to fix themselves. Wonder why they keep checking in, as OP says. Is it like googling themselves?? LOL

  14. When the DOI last conducted an investigation of the BIA the investigators asked very pointed questions regarding the influence of gaming tribes on BIA decision makers. Federal Agencies do get to police themselves and that is the OIG's job, but if there is failure in the internal oversight and evidence of crimes committed the DOJ can step in. It is unlikely, and the last investigation did not result in any prosecutions, but it could happen.

  15. It could happen. But very very unlikely. How many police stations sue themselves because they think they are doing a bad job. Same concept. This isn't an issue between or with other departments. It is an internal BIA matter and the way the clean house, like every other government agency, is to make the heads resign. Anyone ever look into the sudden departure of AS-IA Larry Echohawk. His hand was in the cookie jar. Ask Robert Smith and Macarro. He was with them at a New Years party at Pechanga. Now he lives in the Philippines. Talk about collusion.
