Holly and Mark Macarro |
Macarro is quoted in the glowing piece:
“Our Payómkawichum/Luiseño Bands have endured much in the span of America’s history—especially when so many did so much to make us disappear,”
This is exceptionally rich, considering Macarro is responsible for making over 20% of the tribe DISAPPEAR, via disenrollment of two large families in 2004 and 2006.
Holly Macarro has been working DILIGENTLY to steal water rights from reservation allottees that have been stripped of citizenship rights. Effective? Not so much, as her attempts have been stalled by a few of us who had to stay at Holiday Inn Express, rather than the first class accommodations the $250,000 a year Pechanga pays her...uh, her firm. So, it's been over $1 million..for failure.
Did the sand of time cloud the judgement of the ICT staff? Or was the NICE advertisement (pg.17) paid by Pechanga a factor?
Mark Macarro, one of the 50 faces of Indian Country, but not a good face.
Instead of making and individual decisions and making the band follow through or you could be next is not our band custom and tradition. For a band member to think they can take away others rights and it's honorable is not right either. When a band takes the time to announce it's intent, and then individuals go against the announcement of the whole band is shameful and dishonest. How can a band be allowed to adopt an individual, but can't keep an enrolled member in the band if others go against the band and threaten others they could be next. Temecula, Luiseno , Pechanga, WeRone
ReplyDeleteFace the TRUTH! Our Ancestors and their heirs deserve the same across the board.
As long as votes can be controlled by fear...Macarro will be in power.
ReplyDeleteIf the tribe doesn't care that the Macarros are soaking them and misusing funds....why should anyone else?
ReplyDeleteThere was a time that tribes had many warriors that would never let this evil perpetuate among their people, but now these warriors have turned to passive check cashers. They can't afford to do what is right, they need their percap because they have nothing else. They have sold their true Native ways for the white man's greed, they are disgracing their ancestors by wimping up and selling out.
ReplyDeleteHow do we convince them to do the right thing?
ReplyDeleteOr do we just give up and embarrass our ancestors and our children?
It is such a sad thing to see that the totality of the Indian nations have strayed so far off of the path that the actions of a person or tribe are overlooked. It is the illusion of power and money that blind the people. As a believer of Jesus and a reader of Gods word I have learned that those who are not a believer of Christ will believe the lies and people who tell them, as those who have not been reborn in Christ have a different father...
ReplyDeleteSmith and Macarro are the TWIN SONS of satin.
ReplyDeleteHe should stop PRC Table Games Department from robbing his people blind. That running joke is on him. Everything comes full circle.
ReplyDeleteRobbing people blind is KARMA, and denying the TRUTH will also have an outcome. WeRone!
ReplyDeleteRobbing people of their heritage and not honoring ALL our ancestors is the biggest crime!
