Interesting quote from the 9th circuit on Trumps travel ban flap:
The court said the states were likely to succeed in their due process claim, noting that the due process protections provided under the Constitution apply not only to citizens, but to all “aliens” in the country, as well as “certain aliens attempting to re-enter the United States after traveling abroad.”
The 9th Circuit has RULED many times that American Indians have no such due process rights in the United States. So immigrants get rights that are denied to American Indian citizens of the United States.
There are many tribes that simply disenroll their people without due process and the 9th Circuit refuses to recognize their claims.
DO TRIBAL RIGHTS TRUMP Due Process? Or does the media only care about immigrants and not Natives?
Contributor Paul Johnson wrote about the lack of Civil Rights protections here and there is a story about a judge who said due process isn't required here
The STUDENTS of WASHINGTON STATE and some foreign nationals were INCONVENIENCED for 90 days with Trumps Travel Ban...but THOUSANDS of Native American's due process rights didn't matter to the 9th Circuit when corrupt tribal governments are stripping citizenship from Tribal Citizens. And the Federal Government via the BIA, removes our Federal recognition as Indians from our first ancestor to our future descendants.....without due process.
Remember when the 9th Circuit RULED against Indian children being protected by the ICWA? Maybe if they claimed they were Muslim? Or worked for Microsoft...

That is an excellent issue or topic that should be brought up for discussion at those that holed political office in the federal or state or local government native institutions that are involved in indigenous peoples affairs I thank it is the lack of political power that subjugated people that has been force to a simulate suffer from part of the effect is this .Native American's don't need more money we need to be involved in tribal government and federal and local also if we don't struggle we won't survive this
That because the 9th circuit dourt of old farts" is "scared" of being blown up. by the other countries which they know is Karma, for "Invading there countries oil. since the Vietnam War
We natives could learn, much from our Muslim brothers. Prayer is one of them.
The 9th circuit Judges are a bunch of old farts just waiting to retire without taking any chances on any major decisions and the also don't want to lose any money that may come their way from the giving Tribes.
Sorry I meant to say the CORRUPT TRIBES.
My opinion is that Congress needs to rethink the Sovereignty issue
and put in a clause for native people to have a recourse for being banded or disenrolled from the tribe after being on the tribes rolls for a number of years.
The courts seem to be afraid of getting involved in any type of tribal issues so the leaders just do as they please, including taking
away the rights of Native people, kicking them out of their homes, taking their healthcare and taking away their income.
All this is doing is causing hate and Murders to happen on the Indian
Reservations.
Congress is the only ones that can stop this bullshit. If they refuse then the General Membership needs to go to a meeting and stop all monies being given to them.
All the money that the tribes gives only seems to protect the corrupt leaders.
If every Tribal Member would just realize that all it would take is for everyone to be on the same page and stop the EC's and stand up for their rights and the rights of others.
By keeping quiet you are giving your permission to the EC to do as they please, so who is to blame? YOU ARE.
The solution is simple. Amend the IGRA to include provisions for ICRA protections, and suspension of tribal gaming if legitimate complaints of ICRA violations are submitted and confirmed by the DOJ.
Gaming tribes would be forced to provide due process to disenrollees or face suspension of gaming. It doesn't take a genius to think of these solutions. However, getting an IGRA amendment passed when every gaming tribe would be lobbying strongly against it would be difficult.
