Pechanga Resort & Casino RAPE Alleges Gloria Allred, PECHANGA FAILS to TAKE REASONABLE STEPS to PROTECT

Pechanga EMPLOYEE accused of Sexual Assault,Battery and RAPE of a GUEST.

On March 14, 2020, Michele was a guest of the Pechanga Resort Casino and was staying in Room 10470 on the fourth floor of Tower One by herself.

Michele spent time on the casino floor and consumed alcoholic beverages. At approximately 11:15 p.m., when Michele started feeling intoxicated, she attempted to return to her room at the casino – Room 10470. Surveillance video from the elevator showed Michele was having difficulty keeping her balance. Notwithstanding her intoxication, Michele made it to her room, Room 10470, safely. When she arrived at her door, she attempted to use the key card that she had been issued earlier that day. However, Michele’s room key card did not work. Instead of unlocking the door, a yellow/orange light appeared on the key card pad falsely indicating that the room had been locked from the inside. Michele walked to the elevator lobby and called the front desk for assistance using the guest phone. WATCH her VIDEO HERE After some time, the Supervisor arrived with another key card. According to law enforcement report, the Supervisor also recognized that Michele was intoxicated and having difficulty standing up. The employee physically assisted Michele in standing up because of her level of intoxication. The Supervisor informed her that the key card system often malfunctioned. He gave Michele a new key, which she used to gain entry to her room. The Supervisor and the employee then left after Michele entered her room. Michele prepared to go to bed. She heard a knock at her door. Upon opening the door, Michele found that the employee had returned to her room, unaccompanied by any other Pechanga employee. Michele asked why he was there. She had not asked for any further assistance, and she wanted to go to sleep. The employee knew that Michele was alone in her room. Because Michele was preparing to go to sleep, she was partially clothed. The employee then repeatedly pressured Michele to let him into her room by asking her multiple times if she needed anything. He finally gained access to her room.

Kamala Harris Responds To Redding Rancheria Descendant With Lip Service

Kamala Harris responds to Cam Foreman's (Grandson of Bob Foreman, Redding Rancheria's first chairman after restoration, who along with his entire family was disenrolled) letter with platitudes, and no direct response to direct question on tribal disenrollment and civil right violations.  Well at least she had the decency to NOT ask for money.   Politicians seem to think if they mention sovereignty, that's always a good thing.

Read this article at INDIANZ as to WHY Kamala Harris is NOT good for Indian Country  There are plenty of receipts.

Savanna's Act Passes House on to President Trump for Signature

GREAT NEWS! On to President Trump #MMIW

The legislation is named for Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind, a 22-year-old member of the Spirit Lake Tribe of North Dakota murdered in 2017. The Committee reported, “While Savanna’s tragic death became widespread news, many other Native Americans go missing or are murdered each year.” However, DOJ and the Bureau of Indian Affairs’ Office of Justice Services (BIA-OJS) told the Committee that many of those cases go unreported or unresolved.

Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, today issued the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed Savanna’s Act, legislation he cosponsored that requires reporting on missing and murdered Native Americans. The bill, which is named for Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind from North Dakota who was tragically murdered in 2017, also directs the Department of Justice and the Department of the Interior to consult with Indian Tribes while developing national law enforcement guidelines.  #MMIW

Matilda Smilth, Pechanga Descendant of Paulina Hunter and Mary Ann Miller , Celebrates 91st Birthday

HAPPY Birthday to my aunt Matilda Smith, who, at 91 is the eldest descendant of Paulina Hunter's daugher Mary Ann Miller. We wrote about the abuse of Pechanga elders, who were disenrolled from the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians.
Matilda was 75 years old when the Pechanga tribal council abandoned her, unlawfully taking this elder's per capita money, health care, voting rights and her rights as an allottee, and dishonoring our ancestors.

During my last visit with my aunt Matilda , then 87 years old, she recalled being on the reservation in the late 1930’s. “It was a long trip to get there, especially in those days”. “But that is where our roots were, my grandmother loved it there.”

Her grandmother was Mary Ann Miller, daughter of Paulina Hunter, an original allottee (#62) of the Temecula Reservation known as Pechanga.  Up to her disenrollment, she was attending meetings, travelling out from OKLA 'freaking" HOMA to support the tribe and family.   That's how much she believed in her tribal responsibilities.

She was also a MILITARY VETERAN, which meant very little to the tribe.

My great grandmother Mary Ann Hunter Miller, lived to be 88.

Pechanga Casino Per Capita Stolen VIA DISENROLLMENT of their OWN PEOPLE

Disenrolling for a BILLION DOLLARS

Disenrolling tribes say that disenrollment isn't about the money (yes, they are lying).  Well, they mean it's not ONLY about the money, but as the numbers here for the Pechanga casino prove, disenrollment enriches those remaining.  The rest is about controlling power, then you can control OTHER MONEY.

From the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians in Temecula CA here is the breakdown of the theft of per capita by the Mark Macarro led tribal council:

The Hunter family has lost $3,729, 611 per person, in per capita payments alone.

We arrived at that figure by taking the last full year of per capita $268,000/12 months and multiplying that loss times 171 months of disenrollment. 95 adults at the time of disenrollment  totals: $3,818,945 EACH.  Total loss equals: $362,799,000

The Apis/Manuela Miranda family was disenrolled two years prior in 2004  The per capita was slightly less, about $17,000 per month times 195 months of termination: $3,264,000 times 135 adults equals: $440,640,00

Moratorium People NEVER shared in what was rightfully theirs. The per capita went up to $360,000 per year for those remaining after elimination of 2 large families of tribal citizens.

Thug members who were involved in drugs, shootings, sexual abuses carjacks still qualified. Pechanga Theft of $860 MILLION Includes additional $24 Million in Health Insurance a"Cadillac plan"  under Affordable Care Act.

These totals do not include lost education assistance nor does it account for family members that attained the age of majority. I wanted to keep the numbers static.  I'll gladly update if the tribe wants to give me the current numbers.

Chukchansi Resort & Casino: FIRE after Pestilence for This Corrupt Tribal Entity

picture  courtesy: Fresno Bee

We've written numerous times of the corrupt activities of the Chukchansi Resort & Casino tribe, on the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians in Coarsegold, CA near Fresno. The tribe is one of the most egregious perpetrators of disenrollment in all of Indian Country.

This week, it's FIRE!  Unrelated to the forest fires in N. California, Chukchansi officials say everyone inside the casino was evacuated safely, but it had to remain empty for at couple of hour while crews investigated.

Remember in 2012, the Chukchansi hotel had to be shut down because of pestilence, that being bed bugs.

Back to disenrollment, my hero from Picayune, Cathy Cory, was featured as one of the faces of disenrollment with her ancestor Chief Hawa.  More on the Chukchansi corruption

Jim Crow Raises Ugly Head In Muscogee Creek Freedmen Case

154 YEARS OF INJUSTICE: Muscogee Creek Freedmen

As expected a setback in TRIBAL COURT for the Creek Freedmen seeking justice.

Denying the basic humanity of respecting treaty obligations, the District tribal court says the Cherokee Nation v Nash case is NOT binding precedent and guarantees this case will be heard in Federal Court.

The decision is here from Turtle Talk    Who cares about fair justice? Not the Creek courts, apparently.  More Creek Freedmen cases are in the queue, let's hope that justice, real, justice can prevail.  Hey, it's only been 154 years, right?

THREE OPINIONS from those involved in the victorious Cherokee Freedmen case.

JON VELIE, attorney who helped the Cherokee Freedmen win their treaty rights case says this case was brought incorrectly.

Redding Rancheria Disenrollment Chieftains who Disenfranchised.....

NO SOCIAL DISTANCING or Face coverings for these "leaders"?

Tracy Edwards/TattoosonFace Potter
Redding Rancheria

The Redding Rancheria, when they disenrolled the Foreman Family unjustly also DISENFRANCHISED their VOTES.  The Foremans LOST the right to vote in tribal elections. It's precious that the chair and former chair are pictured here working to get out the NATIVE VOTE.   Hypocrisy much?

#StopDisenrollment Visual Advocacy GETS REAL Redding Rancheria Style, Foreman Family Style UPDATE

Carla Foreman Maslin #stopdisenrollment

The Virginia Timmons descendants of the Redding Rancheria have begun their own visual advocacy campaign.  NO longer waiting for media and tribal representatives to ACT, the Foreman family is doing their own outreach.

The fight against disenrollment must come from many fronts, and in this age of coronavirus, this is a perfect vehicle for that.  Masks that MUST be worn, can also tell the story.

BE LIKE the FOREMANS. RAMP UP THE FIGHT to #stopdisenrollment

NEVER GIVE UP The Fight For Native American Rights To BELONG to Your Tribe

A Re-post from 2012  NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SHUT UP

I was sent an article entitled 22 Reasons to Never Give UP by my cousin Russ, at a point where I was feeling a bit low about working the blog and the fact that a number of our people have dropped out. But, I’ve read it a few times and now I’m going to adapt some of it where it would pertain to those of us that have been harmed by their tribes.

Former RINCON HARRAH"S Resort GM in VALLEY CENTER SUES over COVID 19 Health Concerns

Opening Tribal Casinos in CA may have led to one death from COVID 19. The County refuses to name businesses where they may have contacted the killer disease. Accordingly, just because the afflicted may have visited the casinos, it doesn't mean they contracted it there.  Pechanga has lost one member to Covid 19. The RINCON TRIBE owns Harrahs.

INEWSOURCE has the story

A top executive at Harrah’s Resort Southern California who quit the day before the casino reopened is suing his former employer, claiming he was forced to resign after management ignored his concerns that the decision was dangerous and could expose visitors to COVID-19.

Darrell Pilant, the Valley Center casino’s former general manager and senior vice president, filed the lawsuit against Caesars Entertainment Inc. in San Diego Superior Court on Monday. He alleges the company’s decision to reopen in May resulted in “serious adverse health and safety consequences involving employees and customers contracting COVID-19.”

San Diego County confirmed to inewsource this week that 217 local residents who have contracted COVID-19 reported being at a casino within two weeks of becoming ill. Twelve of the people were hospitalized and one, a casino patron, died.

PECHANGA YOUNG Get it WRONG TRIBAL SOVEREIGNTY NOT Affected by Correct Tribal Membership Rolls

Disenrollment Strips Tribal Citizenship            Disenrollment Strips Tribal Citizenship          Disenrollment Strips Tribal Citizenship         Disenrollment Strips Tribal Citizenship
The fallacies in this conversation with a young Temecula Indian is staggering. What are they teaching?   In the Pechanga disenrollments of two large families, disenrollment was done SPECIFICALLY to harm those who stood for justice.

BOTH families traced their ancestors back to Original Pechanga ancestors.
SOVEREIGNTY does NOT depend on a correct membership roll. The Feds will allow tribes to SELL memberships.

The Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians did not ACCEPT the proof their OWN documents and oral history laid out.

North Fork Rancheria, United Auburn Victorious in CA Supreme Court Ruling on OFF RESERVATION Casino Projects

California Supreme Court Gives Favorable Nod to North Fork Rancheria Casino

The Sierra Start News reports that the California Supreme Court has ruled that former Governor Jerry Brown acted within his authority when he concurred in a pair of federal decisions in 2011 that led to the approval of two so-called “off-reservation” tribal gaming projects in Madera and Yuba counties. In United Auburn Indian Community v. Newsom, the Court determined that the Governor has the right to concur. The decision will allow the North Fork Rancheria to move forward with the design, financing and construction of its long-awaited and highly anticipated project north of the City of Madera.

Quanah Brightman United Native American Gathered at Mount Rushmore Commemorating 50th Anniversary of Occupation

I have stood together with Quanah Brightman of UNITED NATIVE AMERICANS  numerous times against tribal disenrollment in Sacramento and Pechanga.

On Saturday, he led a gathering held at Mount Rushmore’s amphitheater marking the 50th anniversary of the monument’s occupation by supporters of indigenous rights.

The Supreme Court acknowledged the “stolen land” in a 1980 ruling, centuries after the massacre at Wounded Knee. They were willing to pay reparations in the amount of $1 billion to the Native Americans, but the offer was denied.

“We don’t want money for the land. But we should be entitled to the gold you stole from us,” says Quanah. “We are here to ask and demand that Mt. Rushmore be retired, that this site be removed. This monument needs to be torn down.”
